Fact: cheese makes everything more delicious. If greens are good for your health, than a sprinkle of parmesan is good for the soul. This by far the easiest, tastiest way to eat broccoli, inspired by a recent meal at ABC Kitchen.

you'll need...

1 large head of broccoli

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon of dried oregano

1 teaspoon of basil

1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup of freshly grated parmesan or grated grana padano (parm's more reasonably priced cousin. And let's be real, 1/4 is really just a "guide." Do it up. It's worth it.)

1/2 of a small lemon

salt + pepper to taste

to make..

Cut a large head of broccoli into small-medium florets. Sauté in olive on medium heat. Season with basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Add red pepper flakes if using. Get the broccoli nice and crisp. Almost charred, but not burnt.

Remove from heat, squeeze on lemon juice, and lay on the cheese. That's it. So easy, so ridiculously good.
